About

About Me

Born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, I’ve been singing and playing the piano for over 13 years. Music has been my passion for most of my life, and I have made it my life’s mission to instill an appreciation for music in others. I took my passion for music into my undergraduate studies at Case Western Reserve University, where I specialized in Vocal Performance under the guidance of faculty at the Cleveland Institute of Music.

When not teaching, my love of music extends to performance, production and songwriting. Before moving to Boulder, Colorado, I participated in a variety of musical groups, including with the Cleveland Orchestra and Blossom Festival choruses.

My portfolio is featured on my YouTube channel, which can be found here:

My Teaching

Voice Lessons

I generally specialize in teaching classical, folk and popular music. For all students, I work to develop two important aspects of good singing: healthy vocal technique and ear training. These skills can be applied to all genres of music and can be developed and refined at any age.

Students interested in performing are coached on performance strategies and audition preparation. I also help interested students learn to self-accompany on the piano.

For beginner singers, I highly recommend supplementing with piano lessons. In my experience, students who learn another instrument along with voice lessons see increased improvement in reading sheet music and in training the ear to sing in tune.

Piano Lessons

I generally teach classical piano as well as popular music. I also specialize in self-accompaniment for those interested in learning to sing and play at the same time.

Each student will learn the basics of reading music, using proper piano technique, and musical expression. My approach to piano teaching is rich in repertoire and encourages creative expression.

Once basic musical skills are mastered, I work with my students on an individual basis to assign repertoire based on their skill level and individual musical interests.
